This statement explains how PatternIQ Mining (PIQM) and its publisher, Sahara Digital Publications, handle personal information.
Information the journal collects
- Authors: names, institutional affiliations, email addresses and, where provided, ORCID iDs, supplied when a manuscript is submitted.
- Reviewers and editors: names, affiliations, email addresses and areas of expertise.
- Newsletter subscribers: the email address entered in the subscription form.
- Visitors: the website counts how often each article is viewed and downloaded. These counts do not identify individual visitors.
How the information is used
- To handle submissions, peer review and publication, and to correspond with authors, reviewers and editors.
- To publish articles. The names and affiliations of authors, and the email address of the corresponding author, are published as part of the article.
- To send journal news to people who have subscribed to it.
The names and email addresses entered on this website and in the submission system are used only for the purposes of the journal stated here. They are not made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
Sharing of information
The journal does not sell personal data. Information is passed to others only where this is needed to run the journal: to reviewers and editors handling a manuscript (author details are withheld from reviewers under double-blind review), and, for published articles, to services such as Crossref for DOI registration and to indexing services, which receive the article metadata. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.
Cookies
This website uses only the cookies that are necessary for it to work, such as a session cookie. It does not use advertising cookies.
Third-party services
Manuscripts are submitted through an external online submission system, which has its own terms and privacy policy. Pages on this website load fonts and icon files from third-party servers, which receive the visitor's IP address as part of that request.
Keeping and correcting data
Published articles, including the author details they contain, form part of the permanent scholarly record. Other personal data is kept for as long as it is needed for the purposes above. You may ask to see the information the journal holds about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted where it is not part of the published record. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time.
